Finch “is the online presence of Francisco Inchauste”.  Inchauste is a web and interaction designer.  He works for Universal Mind as a user experience specialist and has had 10 years of experience creating “usable interactive designs”.

I love his site for its simplicity.  It is so under the top, it becomes great design.  The use of limited colour palette (makes his commissioned work pop!); timeless font and minimalistic divs work so well together.  This also means that he will not have to re-skin his site every couple of years.

1. Clarity _you cannot say exactly what this company does at first glance of the landing page //DreamerLines are eyecandies and a few singing birds on the wires between me and you//  to do with graphic and sound design
2. Personal style _the visual aesthetic is strong and evident in portfolio work
3. Networking _link to twitter and wordpress is constantly featured at the bottom right-hand corner.  The site is also linked to Skype
   
4. Content _the portfolio showcases a good selection of his work – showing his visual design range
5. Usability _extremely easy to navigate.  The large menu bar and social networking links are consistently situated at the same spot on every page
6. Interaction _the simplicity of the scroll elements does implore the user to explore the site further.  The use of large rollover description tags in the design gallery is implemented well
7. Memorable _the loud graphics make it memorable.  This would be a site I would pass on to others to have a look but not necessarily one  I would return to for new updates
8. Accessibility _dreamlines.lv uses javascript for its page scroll which doesn’t allow for deep linking.  However, this is not really an issue as the site structure is small and simple.  There are not many pages to navigate away to
9. Up to date _not a lot of updating required.  This site is solely focused on portfolio work
10. Contact _is easy and straight-forward.  The designer has made a form in which to contact him from including name, mail and text

1. Clarity _vague at first glance – “We are Pirata.  We create digital gorgeousness.”  You are one click away from reading what the company does.  What is clear is that it is a blog.  Straight away you see the last update to the website was August 11, 2009.  It takes a little time to figure out the difference between its landing page and its ‘work’ page.  (Landing is ‘news’ page as it includes stories about new team members and what the team has been up to.)
2. Personal style _continues its ‘pirate’ theme all the way through e.g. contact emails are ahoy@piratalondon.com and walktheplank@piratalondon.com.  The map to locate the office is a google map with a filter on it to making it look like an old treasure map  //why did they not replace the ‘A’ with a giant cross?
   
3. Networking _the blog is connected to Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and RSS Feeds.  The numerous connection to social networking sites suggests that Pirata’s online presence is constantly updated
4. Content _is informal which fits into the culture of this company.  It is regularly updated and showcases its work in a clearly and simply
5. Usability _simple effective blog layout but it seems as if they are afraid of making the viewer scroll.  They include (unnecessary) ‘prev’ and ‘next’ buttons which scrolls the page for you
6. Interaction _has limited interaction elements.  However, the large button menu has rollover function which works well
   
7. Memorable _the simple style of the site compliments the simple site structure.  The purpose for Pirata’s online presence is clear  //it is an expression of company culture
8. Accessibility _the site utilises deep linking and contains CSS and HTML, which cuts down loading time
9. Up to date _the site is definitely one that encourages regular repeat visits as it updates its site weekly with new works and general annoucements
10. Contact _is easily accessible and has a map for its office location

1. Clarity _it is clear that the site is under construction, however, it looks as if it is still continually updated.  There is a small blurb generally describing what the company does or rather in which field the company works in – “digital communication”.  A few clicks and a download later you can read all about their vision
2. Personal style _this site is style heavy.  It uses the Adobe Photoshop (Ps) desktop as the ‘theme’.  Fudge has worked in the Ps toolbar, rulers, guidelines and transparent background as part of its style.  It is different in terms of not having the traditional menu bar titles, e.g. about, portfolio, contact, etc.  Instead it has a filter system for their projects – all, appointed, launched and other

4. Content _the site is under construction, however, it looks like it is regularly updated.  This site is dedicated to showcasing their projects and does not have an element of bringing back regular visits
5. Usability _it has a F-shaped pattern for reading.  The site divides its page into three columns.  The ‘header’ is located in the far left column and ‘footer’ in the far right column.  The content all goes in the middle column  //simple and clever
6. Interaction _it has interactive scrolling elements.  It uses built in scrolls (arrow and page number).  You can see the content scrolling in the middle column where the main content lives  // nice touch
7. Memorable _this site is highly memorable.  It encourages you to want to explore because it is different to other folio sites.  It is designed for a target audience that is not new to the world of design tools like Ps and Adobe Illustrator (Ai)
8. Accessibility _the site utilises deep linking and contains CSS and HTML, which cuts down loading time
9. Up to date _the site is under construction and there is no previous version of it on internet archives so it is difficult to say how long it has been under construction and how regularly it is updated.  There are projects which date June 2009 which would suggest regular updates.
